GMAT Club & Accepted.com rocks....

Jus now came across these pages .... I wish you help me apply successful in my application. The folowifng is my profile..

GMAT : 640

Schools looking to aply: TAMU(Mays), Eller(U o Arizona), Texas Dalls(Cohort), Iowa state Univ
ACADS:

UG: Bachelor in Engg , India,
UG Avg :77/100
Extra Curricular : Secretary Electrical Engg Association

Professional Exp: 2.5 yrs Indian IT Exp
1 Award for Outstanding performance
Had been on Business develpment visit to Client site once (US)
Currently a team lead at Onsite(US).

Extracurricular Activities :

1. had developed a website and sold it
2. Member of a Social service community. i HAD DEVELOPED A WEBSITE FOR THEM.
3. Stock trading

Tho my profile looks decent I have difficulties putting them in to resume.
I had made a draft of my resume. Is it possible for you to evaluate the effectiveness of my resume. I'd be really grateful if you can do so.

One more query is, presently I am in US , working at client site... so wud like to do my ground work from here... so wish to contact schools and speak to them regarding my applications.... Now whom do I contact in this regard... Id it the professors, or HOD, Admission office .... pls help me... I am planning for 2006 admisions.. but really like to do a good ground work.... Thanking you in advance...

Thanks for the feedback.

You have a competitive profile for the schools on your list, and you are smart to try to do your homework while you are in the US. If you can, visit the schools, in addition to speaking to them. Also, when you speak to them, make sure your questions don't ask about information easily available on their web site. Review the website first.

Hi... thanks for your spontaneous reply ... But I am afraid my question is not fully answered. Should I speak to admission coordinator or professors regarding my admisision/aid.

can you suggest me some other univs for which I may get a sure admit...

Whan speaking to them is it alright if I insist on Assistantship.

Sorry about that.

You should speak to the admissions office, unless you have a specific reason to contact a professor. The admissions office also handles aid issues. You can't "insist" on an assistantship, but you can certainly express interest in or ask how does one go about qualifying for a TA position.

Assuming you want to stay in IT, also consider Vanderbilt and Wake Forest. While I can't guarantee your acceptance, you would be highly competitive at both these schools
