So I just want to post my last 2 experience with the gmat.. as both where pretty bad, but hey thats how things are right?
I started studying mid September, pretty much not remembering anything from high school or uni. Bought the whole
manhattan prep guides and The Economist help guide. Studied for 3 weeks and then took the one that you can download from the mba site... how did i do? well, terrible. Scored 460... 35Q and 20V. What can I say! I was devastated as I was not a bad student at all at uni, but this pretty much showed that i SUCKED!
Anyway, I didn't do any practice test or questioning before that, besides some on the books that i bought.. but hey, I panic! was like 200 points from pretty much any kind of school... So of course arriving home i bought even more preparation tests and anything i could find online (what a way to make money! lol)
So for 3 weeks, nonstop I studied, and I studied hard, did all the problems on
magoosh, on the manhattan guides online, and started writing where my mistakes where. Funny thing is, I notice i answered what was not asked almost 40% on the questions that where wrong, and start working on.. yeah, reading the actual question...
And of course, as things can get worse, with the changing weather here in London, i got sick, and this last monday, just 5 days from my exam, i had the flu... great eh? the night before the exam i slept between 3-4 hours, "woke up" with a terrrrrible headache and feeling down, pretty much feeling that hey, im done. But i remember that big part of the exam is the attitude you actually take it, so I simply cheer myself up and went for it.
Result? 610! yeah, its not high, and yeah, most people actually are "my worst score so far", but feeling terrible during the exam, and just constantly having to cheer me up saying i was not doing bad was a challenge, and I feel that I actually succeeded on it. I'm sure a lot of you guys might say that it's a terrible score, but I just moved to London and i'm not a native speaker, and therefore I already had a second exam date in a months time to retake it. How do I feel? well, actually im very happy, i did Q48 and V26, and I barely practiced on the verbal part. I also score 8 on IR, but have no idea what that is... any help if that actually helps or do anything at all?
So? I have to say im very motivated to, first of all, get a better score on the verbal part, and secondly, not moving anywhere out of home a week before the exam!
In a months time i will post my next score!
