I am currently waitlisted at Fuqua and although I am still waiting on a response from Anderson, i am pretty sure I have been rejected, so right now my focus is on Fuqua, BIG TIME. I just finished taking a finance class for which I received an A- grade. I have also taken an accounting class for which i received an A- grade. Both grades through Berkeley Extension courses. Does the fact that I received A- and not an A look bad to an admissions committee member? Obviously one is better than the other, but is it by a significant margin in adcomms eyes? Your help is always greatly appreciated.
FYI: I am taking these classes to get some business background before I go to b-school as I get no exposure being a chemist and to mitigate a poor undergrad GPA (3.0/chemistry)

An A- in these classes will only be viewed as a positive. Do not worry about the "minus." Congratulations on showing the initiative to take the classes and on doing well in them. And good luck in your Duke wait-list campaign.

Thanks Paul. I am writing a letter restating my interest in Fuqua and giving them an up-to-date career progress report. In my applications optional essay I wrote that I was taking a finance class but at that point I was still taking it. I just recently finished taking the final for the class and found out from my professor that I have an A- in the class. He knew that I was waitlisted at Duke and wanted to get me the info ASAP. I don't know how long Berkeley Extension is going to take to make this grade official but can I mention it in my waitlist letter to Fuqua anyway, even though I do not have an official report card yet? Again thank you so much for your help!!!
