The only rule of thumb I know is for RC:
Number of questions * 2 = time you should take to sketch and answer the questions.
For SC, I'd say you should be aiming under 2 minutes.
I didnt get all jumbled up on "how long do I get for a CR" vs an SC or an RC... I just did one simple thing:
41 verbals, 75 minutes, your average must be under 2 minutes per question.
So, I just timed every question I did, then checked my average. Not fancy, but it works.... In other words, its ok to spend 3 minutes on a RC question if you are knocking out SC's in a minute.
