Not sure what my impression was - mixed is probably one way to say. I love Maine and try to visit every fall, so it hurts to see a waitress that makes $400/week to support her disabled son. Puts a perspective when we talk about MBA, 80K in loans, all the banks, and PE firms.

Even in todays climate, MBA students struggle. We had an exchange student from Stern come here for a semester, when she finsihed she went back to New York, couldn't find a job and ended up waitressing just to bring in some cashflow. Story turns out fine though, she went to Beijing on vacation, and got a Hedge fund job in Beijing via a random conversation with a stranger on the street.
