I didn't find the threat and for this reason I start it.

Could anyone explain what comes with the letter that they send once you are admitted?

The letter comes in a glass case contained within an engraved gold box. It is delivered by security to your office. Also the letter is carved onto solid platinum, it weighs like 3 pounds.

That was the most hilarious reply I've ever read (I'm intoxicated right now, so that may be a factor)

Tell me your going to the ASW! I need to met you!

RF

Yup I'll be at ASW. Enjoy the boozing to celebrate your admit :beer

I received my package on Monday via UPS.

Also, I called Financial Aid yesterday. They said that you would have been notified of scholarships either over the phone or in the admit letter...I didn't get one. The remaining financial aid steps are just to determine if you are eligible for need-based grants and to determine your eligibility for loans.

Then I don't have any scholarship. I hope I can receive a need based scholarship.

I am also international and I am planning to go the ASW with my fiance, so that she can visit the place and also it will be the oportunity to look for a place to stay during the MBA.

You can sign up for ASW now!

If you're planning on staying in the dorms during ASW, sign up now as the spots are limited!

Once again Tuck ASW did not disappoint! An outstanding weekend all around made even better by the weather. Sunny and almost 70F on Thursday and Friday.

Some highlights...

- People at Tuck love to drink. Thursday night started with a Tuck Tails mixer at 7pm, moved to the bars at 10pm then back to the dorms with a couple kegs at 2am. And that was just the first night. I missed a few events Friday afternoon when I went to take a nap.

- The new dorms are amazing. I've stayed at hotels that weren't as nice. Rooms come with their own decently sized bathrooms and big desks. There are huge common kitchens and a ton of areas where a people can get together and socialize. And amazingly nobody locks their doors.

- The weekend was packed with fun activities that gave a bunch of opportunities to socialize with other admits. A ton of great food too, from the International Lunch (the Canadian table rocked! ) to the BBQ at the Dartmouth Skiway. The dinners hosted by at off-campus homes were really cool. Mine was a smaller group and gave me a chance to meet some Tuck partners. The weather didn't really co-operate on Saturday, so some of the afternoon outdoor stuff was canceled.

- The biggest highlight was the people. When they say Tuck applicants self-select, it's no lie. Everyone I met was easy going, friendly and loved to talk. I constantly got the sense that these were people who were eager to build a community. Lots of people from Boston, a few from LA/SF and a surprising number of Texans :?: . And the amazing thing was almost everyone was 100% committed to coming to Tuck. I met a couple people who were still deciding between schools, but almost everyone else was enthusiastically set on coming to Tuck.

- After seeing the incoming Fuqua foxes from the Duke ASW I was a little concerned how Tuck would hold up. Being a half the size of Fuqua the numbers were obviously smaller, but there were a lot of good looking girls.

- I learned that about 50% of 1st years have internships right now, where last year it was closed to 65%. Also, the average age at Tuck looks to be dropping. The average age of matriculating students was 29 last year, but the average age of accepted students this year was 27. It will be interesting to see what the final numbers look like. I felt like an old guy, but was still able to fit in!

I was leaning towards going to Tuck before I went to the ASW but I wanted to make sure the fit was right. By the end of the first night any hesitation about spending the next two years in Hanover just disappeared.

I'll be going to Tuck this fall!

Guys,

Hope that most of you were able to make it for the ASW, I read "Refurb"'s email and it was nice to see that Tuck's tradition is still strong. ASW has always be a great time for applicants but also for current students...
For the internships and the general 2nd year full time offer all programs have been hit and it's not a surprise to see recruiting going down so this will happen in any program..just focus on the school first !

Hi, ASW was really great!! I am convinced that Tuck is my best option after visiting my 4 schools options. Anyway, it has been an amazing week, I have had a lot of fun in every school.

Now, I have to make sure that my wife is also convinced to live in hanover... :D
