Hi SLAYGMAT,

Your score goal is reasonable, although with your timeline you'll have to do a lot of work in a relatively short period of time. At this point, your focus should be on practicing the proper Tactics (right now, that means everything you'll learn in Stage 1 of the EMPOWERgmat Course); the good news is that you do NOT need to get any of the 'hard' questions correct to hit your score goal, but you will have to nail the 'gettable' questions. Keep that in mind when you take your CATs - if a question is doable, then you have to focus on getting it correct, but if you think that a prompt is too hard, then you can dump it without really hurting your chances of hitting your goal score.

HeY rich,

Im going to end up taking the GRE instead, is there anyway for a refund, I joined 4 days ago but haven't used the system in the last 2 days, I feel extremely deflated and on top of that I've spent so much money on books and resources that I don't have anything left to even sign up for another GMAT test. Your help would be appreciated!

Hi SLAYGMAT,

If you plan to stick to your original timeline (taking the Test in 1 month), then switching to the GRE is probably not a great idea. You would have to train for a variety of new question types AND learn a great deal of new vocabulary (for the GRE Verbal section). Since you know a lot about the GMAT already, you would likely score better overall by sticking with the GMAT. If your timeframe is now different, and you plan to commit to several months of additional study, then switching to the GRE could be a feasible option.
