- proposal is on "cooking food" rather than "fire" or "using fire"
- acc to anthropologist , because of "cooking with fire", humans have hominid features rather than "use of fire"
my take is C

It's either B or C.
According to Cambridge:
"date back" phrasal verb
to have existed a particular length of time or since a particular time:
This tradition dates back to medieval times.
This being the case, I'll take (C) for the active voice. Not sure about "like" at the end though.

A using fire to cook food could be dated back to almost two million years and that it could explain hominid features like having B the use of fire to cook food could date back almost two million years and could explain such hominid features as C cooking food with fire could date back to almost two million Years, explaining hominid features like D fire used to cook food could date back almost two million years ,explaining hominid features such as having. E fire used for cooking food could be dated back to almost two million years and explain hominid features like.
Well I pick B for several reasons!
the use of fire is better as it is the use of fire that could explain the homnid features. Also B is parallel. The last reason is, the usage of such as. Like does not go well here.
