Linda,
Accepted.com conducts a lot of chats with MBA admissions officers, so this might be a good question for you.
Since I have been putting all this effort and time, (and many of my friends and even strangers on this forum have put in a lot of sweat) in order to convey who I am to these admissions officers, I was wondering who these people really are?
Who, and How does one become an admissions officer?
Thanks
Good question. Admissions staff come from varied backgrounds. Some have an MBA, but many don't. Some come from a sales background or from an undergrad program in psych or marketing.
I went several years ago to a conference of graduate admissions professionals. At one session the speaker asked how many had ambitions of going into admissions in childhood. No hands went up.
So admissions people are human beings with different personalities and backgrounds. Nothing cookie cutter about them.
Good luck!
