The widespread use of antibiotics has two negative effects. Antibiotics use can produce antibiotic-resistant strains because the small numbers of bacteria that aren't killed by the antibiotic are the ones that survive and breed. In addition, antibiotics can kill the body's natural microbes that help fight off foreign bacteria.

Which of the following practices can help ameliorate these negative consequences and benefit patients?

(A) Using antibiotics derived from natural products
(B) Produce stronger antibiotics

Anti-biotic has 2 negative effects, one don't kill all bacterial that survive and breed.
Two, kill the body's natural microbes that help fight off foreign bacteria.

How we can solve these issues?


(A) Using antibiotics derived from natural products -- argument doesn't mention any comparison between synthetic or natural antibiotic!
(B) Produce stronger antibiotics -- This will increase the negative effects more!
(C) Steadily increase dosage if the results begin to decline --- Increasing the dosage may have negative effects, we are not sure here
(D) Do not give the antibiotic to all people who are sick -- So, how can people cure of their sickness?
(E) Changing the antibiotics used every few weeks -- Here is the correct answer, changing means that the body did not use the same antibiotic

(A) Using antibiotics derived from natural products -- Came close since it solves side effect #2 and also side effect #1. But natural products isn't akin to natural microbes, so therefore, it may not prevent either of those 2 effects. Eliminate.

(B) Produce stronger antibiotics -- That'll only worsen the side effect #1. Eliminate.

(C) Steadily increase dosage if the results begin to decline -- Again. Will worsen side effect #1. ELiminate.

(D) Do not give the antibiotic to all people who are sick -- Okay. But people may die. Surely side effects can't be more imp than saving lives. Kinda illogical statement this. Eliminate.

(E) Changing the antibiotics used every few weeks -- Yes. Side effect #1 is gone now since resistance may not develop due to quick shift. Little doubtful on how it'll help navigate through side effect #2. But other options were worse. So selected this.
