Why is this thread so quiet? Less than 2 weeks left to submit R1 applications. Should we guys arrange a chat session on application queries?

Almost all top full time MBA programs consider GMAT/GRE. This thread is about Tepper specific questions. Do post general queries in BSchool Application thread.. https://gmatclub.com/forum/the-b-school ... ation-103/

Hey guys - quick question, after you've had the Tepper interview, do final decisions come out on a rolling basis? Or are they all released in December on the date provided

Did anybody have issues with the application?

I am a US citizen, but the system required me to submit a copy of a passport almost as if I needed it for work authorization. Not a big deal, but found it very strange.

Also, on the "personal" page, at the bottom it stated "just for fun" but it didn't list anything below it. Almost seems as if that would be a spot where you would submit extra-curricular activities and achievements, but nothing was below it.

I submitted my application anyways since today is the R1 deadline, but I will call them tomorrow to see if I did it incorrectly.

"just for fun" was empty for me as well.

the "Just for fun" was available for me, it was just a small box (enough for literally one sentence), but I also submitted my application a few days early so not sure if they changed things

That's strange. If I remember correctly, I think they had a similar box (fit for one sentence) asking for a random fact somewhere towards the end of application. Maybe they reorganized the form?

Besides, when I login and click on "Preview Application Proof", the following information gets displayed under "just for fun":
1. Outside of home country
2. languages spoken
3. nearest metro area
4. identity (optional)

Is the information in application proof same for you as well chanjaso BingingOnNetflix ?

It sounds like maybe the form isn't 100% complete. The only "just for fun" thing I completed was the one sentence later in the application. It doesn't seem like it's a big deal. Anyways, now that R1 has past, hopefully we'll hear some info regarding interviews

Pleasantly surprised by the quick interview invite. I wonder if it had anything to do with GMAT/GPA scores?

Regardless, I'm excited to visit campus.

chanjaso will take over the control of this discussion from hereon. He already completed his CMU Tepper interview and has recently visited the campus as well. He is also applying to Ross, Duke and a couple of other US MBA programs. For any help on this forum, feel free to contact him. But for now, congrats and wish him best luck.

Tepper has always released invites this early, so I am not surprised.
All the best dear applicants.

A lot of you might still be writing essays and may be juggling interviews with further applications. But don't use that as an excuse to NOT prepare for interviews. Remember, and interview invite is half the road crossed. And b-schools put a lot of emphasis on Face-to-face (nowadays, Skype -to- Skype :-D ) interaction. The worst thing you can do at this stage is to go unprepared for interviews. Here's a quick list that I will advise you to DEFINITELY prepare:

1. walk me through your resume
2. Career goals- short term, long term, plan B. hy these are your goals, and :
3. why particular b-school.
4. Practice a few teamwork, leadership and failure stories- both from work and outside.
5. How will you contribute to biz-school?
6. strengths and weaknesses
7. Hobbies/ interests
8. Any questions for the adcom.

There are a lot more questions to prepare, but these are absolute musts.
And don't prepare in your mind. Practice with people in your circle. Also, reach out if you need help. We'd be happy to provide our mock interviews with very senior admissions consultants who have been on the interview panels for their alma maters.
