Application Format Questions [#permalink]

I am currently applying to Columbia and I am unsure of the format for all the various pieces of information (i.e. parents history, college activities, post-college activities, etc.). I am uploading all of these as word files. In addition, I used their format for the transcript.

Is there a proper or effective format that other people have used? I don't want to just slap my information into a word file. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.
