applying to schools in the UK [#permalink]

I'm American and planning to apply to a few schools in England (London Business School and perhaps Cambridge and Oxford.) Does anyone think my essays should be written in British English, rather than American English? Does it matter? I'm pretty sure Word will translate the small nuances for me. I want to represent myself accurately, but I also want to make clear that I'm putting in the effort the schools expect. I'd be happy to hear opinions.
I dont think itll matter. I used to write in "american" english, but had british english beat into me, and now write like that. I wouldn't worry about it -the meaning is always clear as long as you dont use colloquial phrases such as "taking the piss" (which isn't a good phrase for essays anyway).
