Best Bschool Networks in SF Bay Area [#permalink] New post 19 Aug 2013, 20:50
Hi, I'm applying to business school this year and am looking to work in the SF bay area after graduating (preferably in finance). I'm wondering what schools people think have the strongest networks there. Obviously GSB and Haas, but what other schools are strong there?

Thanks!

MIT, Michigan, and Carnegie Mellon are a few schools that have a pretty good presence in the SF Bay Area, mainly b/c of their reputations for tech. UCLA is strong too as it's CA-based.

Honestly, all the top schools have strong presences in the Bay Area (obviously, GSB and Haas can't be beat though). You'll find that most of these other schools have stronger connections with some firms than others (e.g., Duke and Tim Cook/Apple), so if I were you, I would look at some firms you are looking to intern/work at and find out where they hire MBAs from. Conversely, look at each school's list of firms students interned or were hired at and see which one offers a spread of firms you'd be interested in.

Just dropping by to confirm that the Sloan network in SF is very strong with almost a quarter of the class heading to the West Coast each year.
