If you can visit / interview just after the deadline, then chances are that they still wouldn't have started working on your application anyway. So perhaps it's not a bad idea to visit and interview just after the deadline.

I am visiting on Oct 6th (Student Information Panel), sending app for R1 and interviewing after R1 deadline. And this is my first choice school.
Aau, do you suggest anything else I should do when I visit on Oct 6th.

Dosa and others,
I had a campus visit and an interview at Duke today. Feel free to PM me if you want to find out more about the process.

dosa_don wrote: Hi aau, Yes I can interview after the deadline but basically I am trying to visit and interview on the same trip. And it looks like it wont be possible before the deadline. So my question is, does it matter whether I interview/visit before or after the deadline? Thanks for the quick response
i'm looking at the admissions calendar: for R1 you've got till nov 20 to do your interview, and it's totally ok to wait until then. That's the official word.
In a more unofficial sense, club members have talked about the value of visiting a school before submitting the app - more fodder for your essays, shows you're interested, etc. But I applied in early January and didn't get here until almost 2 weeks later, and I think things went perfectly well for me. It's up to you, my friend.

My interview is tomorrow--wish me luck! I feel prepared. I'm just worried about being on campus by 7:30am and coherent by 8am. My body is on West Coast time.
I've attached the interview questions I've culled from the internet. Please excuse the crappy formatting. I found it quite helpful and really in line with what most of the Fuqua alum that I've spoken to have mentioned about the interviews. Hope this helps you guys!

Sorry mNeo-- I knew you'd do well!
Just wanted to do a quick report on the Fuqua interview. Pretty standard, very conversational, and no questions outside of what was outlined in the document I posted earlier.
I really wished that they'd ask me the superpower question since I prepared for that one...and luckily she didn't ask me anything about basketball.

URGH! I am crossing my fingers that I can get this one in on time. My essays are still in rough draft and #4 is only a half draft. Already interviewed.

I've barely even begun my essays, so not really even rough drafts yet. But, I'm going to hammer them out over the next few days to get them in for R1. My interview is on the 6th.

Got 2 essays in "near-complete" stage, 1 in progress and 1 needs to be adapted from a Ross essay.
Interviewing on the 3rd.

submitted...I was very nervous submitting this one. I felt like a missed something. Maybe it's the self-reported transcripts, who knows?

All the guys (and girls) who have completed their interviews- any tips/suggestions (thanks for the collection of questions mba2010!). What to expect? Were there any unexpected questions or is it more of a general conversation?
Thanks!

Dosa,
Your interview will likely depend on the style of the interviewer. It can be very formal (in my case) or very conversational (aaudetat's case). Either way, be prepared for a few behavioral-type questions. mba2010 has most of them covered in her doc.
Good luck!
