I believe there's been a pretty significant spike of interest in healthcare careers among D undergrads (and maybe Tuckies as well?) after JYK took over. It seems like there should be a lot more collaboration between Dartmouth Med and Tuck in the future.

But yeah... definitely an interesting field.

Hey all,

I would imagine everyone who submitted EA will be going "complete" pretty soon, if they haven't already. I noticed something interesting, my GMAT scores had an "Official" in parenthesis, however, I only self-reported my scores in the app. If I didn't notice that my transcripts had a "Not Official" in parenthesis, I wouldn't think anything of it. Just out of curiosity, for those who also just self-reported their GMAT scores, do you show an "Official" as well on your complete status?

Hope everyone's submitted the scholarship app with time to spare...

Will be submitting it tomorrow. If you self-reported it, how does it say Official?
I mailed Tuck and they asked me to send the scores in, so I sent them. Woulda saved $28, if I knew this was the case.

My thoughts exactly. Made me think that maybe they matched up someone else's GMAT scores that were sent in with my application. That doesn't seem likely tho as I've got an asian last name, but you never kno, maybe they get tons of applicants from there.

Re: Calling All Fall 2010 Dartmouth (Tuck) Applicants [#permalink]
I am an applicant from India. I am working in the Healthcare industry from the past 7 years. I have an Biomedical undergrad and grad degree.

I have spoken to current students and alumni at Tuck and found out that Tuck has very good Healthcare courses. I spoke to the career center and got positive response on finding jobs in the healthcare industry after the MBA.

My only apprehension is that Tuck places a lot of importance on undergrad scores. Even during the chat last week, it was mentioned by a current student. I have low undergrad score, but was in the top 5 in my grad degree. Given the fact that Tuck admits only around 240 students each term, do you think I should still try applying for R1?

I had a low undergraduate GPA and a high graduate GPA and got in!

You'll never know if you don't try!

There are no Tuck receptions scheduled in my city, Bangalore, India.

Since Tuck places a lot of importance on interviews, will it be a major cause for concern that I would not have been interviewed before submitting my app?

Did you try to schedule an off campus interview in bangalore?
Essentially the message tuck gave us when I went there was: interview or no interview, a strong application will get in, but if it's borderline, and 2 equally good apps, the one with the interview gets through.
Good luck

Bump!
This topic was heading to the depths to the B-school apps forum! :P
As R1 deadline is closing by I wanted to know where you were in your applications?
For my part, I have just finished my final drafts of the essays (around 10 versions each to date) and submitted them to my friends for review.
One of my recommenders said he will finish by today, have no news from the second one (a "kind reminder" mail is already in the magazine and is just waiting that I push the trigger to send it)
The only other missing item is the English version of my transcripts (should receive them later this week).

bye

Is anyone going up to attend the Tuck Diversity conference over this weekend? I sent in my Bio and details last week but haven't heard anything back from them, according to their deadlines, I should have received at least car pooling and student host information at this point...

Yikes! Give them a call! It starts on Friday!

The Diversity Conference is a huge event at Tuck and this year promises to deliver. I've seen the line up of events and anyone who attends will have a blast.
