Calling all MIT Sloan Fall 2011 Applicants!

yes, the majority is out. i remember reading somewhere a few days ago that less than 9 of the 90 slots to interview at campus remain.

Where oh where can my invite be?
The Lord took it away from me!
It's off by Boston so I've got to be good,
So I can get my invite and then leave for school.

I think SF folks will be interviewed here in the bay area (source: Last year's chats where it was mentioned that there were some 25 slots for interviews in SF). Not sure about other places (LA, Seattle etc.) though..

reply email received yesterday from the adcom. I asked when would the invitation to Europe be extended:

Dear XXX,

We thank you for your patience as we make our interview decisions and extend offers. We do not yet have the final travel schedule planned, so we can’t say. We reserve the right to call candidates for interview up until the decision deadline of January 31, 2011. Thank you.

I think, anyhow, that it is the end of the road for us Europeans. I heard through a friend, as Genghis told us, that many people in Israel have been extended invited to interview in Tel Aviv, so I am assuming that they have got this part of the globe figured out.

Should anybody know more about Europe and interviews already arranged in London, Paris or elsewhere, please let us know...

Already in a ding mode

Honestly, I don't know what's worse.... a ding, or this wait. I wish Friday had been ding day. I want to stop thinking about Sloan admissions...

A couple of interview calls for my clients since last friday... Adcom is working overtime... even on weekends... Keeping my fingers crossed...

we don't need more chats, we have attended many, we need interview invitations!

Ugh, no word for Midwest yet? This is going to be a long holiday.

Also, that chat invite email almost killed me.

My wife was called yesterday to the interview. I had the chance to check the slots in São Paulo - Brazil... 8 of 17 are full...

Still hope for us...

Actually they are pretty clear at the beginning that you should refrain from going too long in the past.

I would hope that is not true. I am a 770 GMAT/4.0 GPA ding, and Sloan was my top choice. Did not even apply to H/S. Worked on my app for over 3 months.

Congrats to those who have what Sloan is looking for.

Also, time to unsubscribe from Sloan spam emails. I ain't letin ya add insult to the injury.

I thought Sloan's essays helped me really hone in on solid examples that I used on other apps. I found the cover letter especially useful.

My transcript was not sealed and it was accepted without questions. I also saw other interviewees handing in unsealed transcripts. Hope this helps.

It is very different from person to person honestly; it is quite unpredictable. Some students I met there told me the interviewer did not ask too many questions, others said the opposite. For me, it was more probing, however, it was more of a conversation than anything else, the interviewer acted as a curious person.
