has anybody gone back to michigan about aid? any luck??

I tried leveraging a fellowship from a lesser school - no luck! Got a bit of need-based aid, but it's going to be mostly loans for me.

Per a student on BW forums, Dean Dolan is leaving in 2011. What's everyones thoughts on that?

As many of you know, my second and current five-year term as Dean comes to an end in summer 2011. Although that is still a little more than a year away, I think this is the right time to announce that I have decided not to seek or serve a third term as Dean. My fellow deans at Chicago, Northwestern, and Stanford have made similar decisions in the past year suggesting that two terms totaling ten years generally “feels right” in this day and age. I have discussed my decision with the Provost and, more recently, the President so that the School and the University can plan a smooth and effective transition.
As I recently said in a Monroe Street Journal interview, coming to Michigan as Dean of the business school is the best move I ever made. It has given me the opportunity to work with great people – faculty, staff, students, and alumni -- in a challenging, energizing, and deeply rewarding environment. I am proud of what we have accomplished together since the summer of 2001 and how we have worked together--through a historic naming gift, an ambitious facilities project, and several economic cycles--to strengthen the School and maintain its tradition of excellence.
What happens among the people who work and learn here together is tremendously inspiring. Every time I walk through the Davidson Winter Garden and see and hear our learning community at work, I feel a sense of great joy and satisfaction. Thank you to all of you for your contributions to our community.
More information about the process for determining a new Dean will be forthcoming. In the meantime, there is important work to be done, and I very much look forward to pursuing it together during the remainder of my term.
Thank you.
Bob Dolan, Dean

I don't really have thoughts on this. More of a shrug. EDIT: Maybe current students could say something?

i think dolan's track record as a dean really speaks for itself, ross during his tenure has probably had the most upward momentum out of any business school in the elites.

current students chime in?

It takes a lot of momentum to turn a big ship, so as a current or soon to be student, I wouldn't really think anything of it. In general, I met him and have heard him speak and I wasn't all that enamored. I didn't feel like he had much of a view/vision for Ross. I think they could find someone equally as good. Note, those were just my impressions based on a one time meeting, so the current students are certainly better suited to trump my opinion.

For all you GBR attendees, you're probably here or almost here - and already have a packed schedule. I wanted to invite Erb prospectives to a couple of events.

Thurs April 8th, 9-11PM
Conor O'Neils, 318 S. Main St
Mix and mingle with Erb students, alumni and other prospectives

Fri, April 9th, 7-9PM
Taste of Ross Reception

Sat, April 10th, in the morning
Potluck Brunch for partners and significant others

Sat, April 10th, 5-9pm
BBQ with the Erb community

If you need the locations for Saturday events, PM me.

Have fun! Maybe I'll meet you out at an event!

I'll be making my rounds at all the GBR events as well. PM me if any of you GMAT Clubbers want to chat about Ross, Erb, and/or life in AA.

Well, I emailed 2 adcom members this week and I received their replies in less than an hour. They were very helpful.

Maybe the spam folder ate your mail? I suggest you call them up.

I agree with hserfoj. One of the things that has made Ross stand out in my eyes is the responsiveness of the staff (I've heard this from others as well). I would guess that something anomalous happened with your email (like hserfoj suggested).

Whenever I have emailed my admissions officer, she has replied the same day. It is better to email again.
