Career Goals Question

Hi Alex,
As I'm thinking through answering questions regarding short/long term goals, I'm struggling a bit (don't worry, I'm not going to ask you to pick a career for me).
I would like to do financial/strategy/general management (looking a acquisition opportunities, looking at special projects, etc - non compliance related stuff) with the goal of eventually being a CEO/CFO (aim high!). I could pick an industry for the purpose of the application but I don't really love any one industry over another per se. I could certainly articulate this better for the purposes of an application.
What I worry about is how this type of goal is looked at by admission committees. It's not marketing, consulting, or investment banking and when I read about placements and relationships these obviously dominate. If placing students is an important factor when considering applicants, do my goals put me at a disadvantage?
Don't get me wrong, I don't intend on lying and saying that my dream is to work for a bulge bracket investment bank to help my chances, I was hoping for some context around the goals/placement odds views of admission committees.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks for doing this.
