Hi all ,

I wanted to know what kind of value would a work-ex as an operations analyst in goldman sachs for 2 years have ?
Is it given really high importance or is it just "another job" like a IT guy or research analyst ?

Goldman Sachs is an excellent company so that counts. But even more so, would the quality of your experience and impact as an operations analyst and alignment with your goals and target school’s focus. Another way to answer the question is that it counts but not as much would working in Goldman Sachs as an investment banking analyst, because Goldman Sachs is one (if not) the best in this space, whereas in operations arguably a company like Amazon (operations-intensive) or UPS would carry just as much weight.

I agree with Michael and Jon too. Goldman is a great name on your resume. Something to consider is that working in ops for a financial giant like that probably comes with challenges that someone at Amazon may not face. When it comes to differentiating yourself, think about what sets your ops experience apart from that of others. You're at a major financial firm in the shadow of the Great Recession - be creative when you think about your experiences and see what you can tease out that'll make you seem more unique!
