Viewed purely as a path to an MBA program, either of your options are good opportunities to gain the experience that schools are looking for. Consultants aren't viewed as being better applicants than people who work for F500 companies, their large representation in full-time bschool programs is more a function of a FT MBA being more clearly in the career path for a consultant than for someone at a F500.

I would suggest doing what interests you more and not worrying so much about prestige. If you're interested and excited by your work, you're more likely to do better - which is much more important to your success than the company name in the lobby.

You can't really go wrong either way, but I see more consultants out of IBM (and similar) strat placed higher into top tier schools than Boeing. Reason is because Boeing recruits more from lower ranked undergrads...partly because they have many spots open. The harder it is to get into the program, the better it is for you.
