Re: DEVASTATED [#permalink]
Perfectly possible, I am slated to take the GMAT on July 5th and I have gone on the GMATprep CAT's from 590 to 700, with no repeat tests. So keep your chin up and pound away. With the quant you are in an impeccable position and with the Verbal score, I advise manhattan SC and RC guide, both of those books will make you aware of "careless" mistakes and from the get go with little practice can scale your score up on the verbal by about 4 to 5 pts, with hard work 8 to 9 points or more.

P.S. I think this is somewhat messed up but from my understanding the Verbal side of the GMAT provides the highest marginal return for studying, adding wayyyy more to your overall score than the Quant.

I agree with volcom808. Do add powerscore CR if you are weak in that section.

But do not forget too improve and sustain you quant score. It will hurt you more to lose points on your strength topics. Just keep 35:65 for quant:verbal.

Good luck and keep us updated.

I think your Quant score is really good, so don't focus on Quant too much. Just make sure you know your key concepts well and continue doing a couple of problems a day during your preparation period just to keep in touch with these concepts.

But as for Verbal, you can definitely improve your score!! You have a whole month and that's enough time. Do more SC since that's the only place you can actually boost your score from what many 700+ test takers seemed to have indicated on debriefs. And for this, you can use MGMAT SC and then do strengthen your CR skills by using Powerscore CR or something similar and use the OG 12 and OG Verbal Review for core concepts in these.

Take more practice tests towards the end of your prep (say with at least a week to spare) and use an error log for this. I would recommend at least 4-5 tests (Each test prep company has one free test online, which you can take with a grain of salt, and the MGMAT CATs will be available too, if you haven't taken them). Use the error log to analyze your weaknesses and focus the last week only on these weaknesses while keeping up with Quant all through the process and finally take GMAT Prep with like 3 days to spare at least.

At this point, you'll know what your weaknesses are still and just use the last few days to brush up on these as much as possible. Leave the last day relatively free and relax and you'll do well!!!

Good luck and hope this helps :)
