Disability, GMAT and MBA Admission

I have ADD and I am thinking about applying for extra time to take the GMAT (I believe I would get time and a half). Will the schools that I apply to see that I got extra time for the GMAT (and the reason why)? If the schools do learn that I had extra time, will that have any impact on how they look at my GMAT score and evaluate my candidacy?

Hi,

As I recall, in 2000 ETS agreed to discontinue the process of "flagging" tests from nonstandard administrations of the GMAT largely out of ADA concerns.

I believe Hjort is right that ETS decided to stop flagging results of applicants who receive accomodations. You can check with the schools, GMAC, or ETS to be sure.

Hi,

It's actually a rather interesting story how ETS decided to stop flagging after being sued by a Stanford GSB student. As part of the settlement ETS agreed to stop this process and extended it to other tests such as the SAT. This in turn put pressure on the ACT corp. to do likewise on its exams. Regardless of the legal pressure on ETS, it is an open technical question whether a nominally standardized test with blind nonstandard procedures is still standardized in a meaningful sense.
