Distance MBA and Consulting [#permalink]
07 Nov 2009, 13:42
I am a Naval Academy grad with two years left on my commitment. I am starting the UF (Hough) Internet MBA, which I should finish right when my commitment to the military is up. I would like to get into management consulting when I leave the service. I know the first tier firms will have little interest in me without a top 15 MBA, but what about second tier consulting firms (IBM, KPMG, Deloitte, ect.)? Will second tier firms dismiss a distance learning degree?

About the only way that you will know for sure is to look through UFs employment reports, or speak with their career services. Anything else will be hand wavey at best.

IBM, KPMG, Deloitte, and Ernst & Young are among the groups listed on the 'who hire UF grads' part of Hough's Career Services website. Unfortunately it doesn't break it out by program, but it does give me hope that it's a little more than a wavey hand. Thanks for the advice.
