Hi,
I have an MBA from a university in Saudi Arabia. It is among the top 500 universities according to Shanghai stat. However it is not a recognized university worldwide. I am planning to apply for PhD in marketing or internstional business in a leading business schools like: LBS, HBS, Stanford, and Oxford...
When I applied to MBA I got 490 in GMAT because I didn't study enough; I studied only for two weeks & 93 in IBT. I believe my English level improved greatly and I have a year to prepare for GMAT, MY GPA is 4.9 out of 5. I got my undergraduate degree from the same university GPA 4.71 out of 5. Also I have a good relations with my profs so I think I ll get good recommendations + All my prof. studied in US or UK.
For the fund I have no prob in that regard I work as a teaching assistance and my university will pay for everything including a monthly salary. I have been working as TA for about a year and I worked as a trainer in vocational college fro about 1 and a half year.
I heard some people saying that the school you comes from matter greatly. Is that true? And what are my chances to get to a top business school especially LBS ?
Additional inf.
Demo. Female from Saudi arabia
Thank you in advance for your help
You need to check with the schools whether your school is accredited by an agency that these universities recognize or is simply recognized by these schools. You will also need to get a much higher GMAT. I don't know what the typical GMAT scores are for the PhD program at these schools, but I am sure they are close to or above 700.
I really can't assess your chances of acceptance to these PhD programs. Sorry.
