Hi all,
I've been a reader of these forums for a few years, and have finally taken the plunge and registered for the site because...drum roll...I'm applying to fulltime programs this fall, for a 2017 start. I thought it would be nice to create a group of applicants going through the process together - an online sounding board of sorts. In addition to all the info here, I also thought I would keep a blog to tell a bit more of my story and organize my thoughts and process over the next year. Just at the point of studying for the GMAT...
Details are here (update, I haven't been a member long enough to post a link! Will edit for later, but for those dying of curiosity, google futurembablog and wordpress and you'll find the site)
A little about myself...shamelessly stolen from my first blog post (but don't worry, there are two up now!): I’m originally from the Southeast, attended a large state school in the Midwest, and have somehow ended up in Seattle where I work as a management consultant at a boutique firm that isn’t really a traditional MBA feeder. I’m looking to apply to top 10 programs (too ambitious?) but have a lot of research to do on finding the right fit, not to mention GMAT and essay prep. I majored in international relations and had a 3.4 GPA, but a 3.8 in my major. I hope to work for a larger, brand-name strategy consulting firm after business school, and eventually start my own business.
Please comment there or here and I'm happy to give more details, talk stats, etc. Looking forward to meeting fellow applicants and hopefully classmates!
