Fuqua Interview Experience [#permalink] New post 27 Jan 2007, 20:00
I thought I would start a thread on Fuqua's interview experience, since so many of us in interview time. If anyone wants to add comments or questions on Fuqua, go for it. And feel free to start threads on other schools' interview processes.

Here's what I said elsewhere about Duke. I had my interview earlier this week:

Duke interview is done by a student - very conversational, at least in my case. I think the most important thing was to show that you're going to fit in and be someone they'd wnat to have in class. The interviewer had only my resume to go on.

Overall, it was very relaxed and low-pressure. One question threw me a bit - I don't know why, cause I had prepped for it, and I knew duke would ask this. they just wanted me to describe a team situation - one where you weren't a leader. I had planned to talk about a college situation, but that went right out of my head and had to scramble for something else. I think it was ok, but I am annoyed with myself 'cause I KNEW they would ask.

I can hardly recollect my interview with Fuqua. I interviewed with a second year who was a professional hockey player and HR manager prior to b-school. It was very conversational. He asked me a lot of teamwork and leadership questions. One of the things he asked me was how would I deal with teammates whose conversational skills weren't up to scratch. We talked quite a bit about independent job search to target companies that don't recruit at b-schools. He took a lot of notes during the interview...

I am an int app and so had my interview with an alumni. Coming from a small country (very small in fact), it turned out that the interviewer knows one of my colleagues. They were schoolmates.

Anyway, I had lots of questions on team work but was pretty bad at answering the one that asked me on conflicts. Was kicking myself after the interviewer since I, too, was expecting that question and yet did not do as well.

The interviewer was scribbling notes all over my resume. I sure hope he can remember what i said.:)
