GMAT 710 | Quant: 50 - 90%ile | Verbal: 35 - 74%ile [#permalink] New post 30 Dec 2012, 11:10
Hi ,
I gave my GMAT on the 27th of December 2012 [Friday]. I scored 710 and was pleasantly surprised to get this score.
In my mock tests, I would score either in the 680s or the 690s and was glad that i got more in the GMAT.
By March of 2013, I will complete 4 years of work experience in Tata Consultancy Services.

I am interested in a full time 2 year general MBA . Can the members here please help me / advise me on where my chances are good ?
I am under no illusions and know that I probably do not stand a chance in the top 15(USA) . Besides, I do not have the money required
to join the top 15 anyways.
I was wondering what my chances would be for admissions in good B schools in USA (&/or India, Singapore) as well as possibility for scholarships / assistantships etc ?

How do you think I would fare in , say, McCombs, Scheller, Darden, Carlson or Kenan Flagler ? (I agree it is pretty ambitious... but please help nonetheless).
Are there any risks of not being able to find a job in the US to repay my loan ? How serious are the risks ?

I am currently working in BI (Business Intelligence) as a Project Leader to a team of 10 people. Our client is into Supply chain logistics , as part of my work, I also have to study and understand the client business to design the BI solution. So, internal project management activities, client domain study, data architecture design are my current work areas.

In case you need any further info, please do let me know..

Regards,
Karan

Hi Karan,

Congrats on your scores. With the given profile , you can also target the following b-schools in US: Kellogg, Haas, Tuck, Duke, Ross, USC-Marshall, Kelley, Emory, Ohio-Fisher, McDonough, Nanyang & NUS. As the avg. GMAT range falls between 630-740, you have fair chances of being accepted. You can also try your chances in b-schools by clicking http://www.general-ed.com/chances-of-bschool . Having said this, you should focus on your application essays & interviews where you can demonstrate your leadership skills, professional achievements & other aptitude.

As I said before that the chances of selection in b-schools depend upon how well you position yourself in essays & interviews. Even these are the deciding factors for scholarships as well.

Let me know in case of further queries. You can also PM me your number to have a detail discussion over your profile or selection of b-schools.

Cheers!!
Neha
Giving KUDOS is a decent way of saying thanks!!
