Hi TdePayen,
You could certainly improve 90+ points in the time that you have before your Official GMAT, and you've already made some slight improvements, so it would make sense for you to continue with your studies as planned. I will recommend one thing though: taking a FULL CAT 3 days before your Official GMAT could actually work against you. The process of taking a CAT can be an exhausting experience and we wouldn't want you going into Test Day burned-out or too tired to perform at your best. If there's any way to move that Test up in the calendar (so that it's further in advance of your Official GMAT), then you should.

Hmm, advice I wish I'd had before I booked my GMAT. The post test is on a set date as the class is through the university, so it can't be changed. I obviously can't change my real GMAT either, too expensive. I can skip the essay if I want on the practice test, and just do the IR, Quant and Verbal. I am not worried about the essay, I used to be a history major, I can BS my way through an essay with my eyes closed
I suppose I do have the option of skipping the post-test. I mean, it's not like I'm being graded on this class. However, I really want to take it because it's away from my house.
My plan was to not study at all between the post-test and the real deal, so I would have two full days of rest. And I am planning on taking those two days off from everything. In college, I never studied right before a test. I found I did better if I let my brain rest. As an aside, I'm the type who is very impatient, and wants to get this over with, so that's why I scheduled it when I did. I mean, a week later might have been better, but there weren't any slots open where I live for two weeks after the class ended, and I didn't want to wait two weeks, because I'm impatient
