1. Given Receipe details: 4 servings require 3/2 cups of pasta. NOte that this is the general receipe and this is NOT any info on what was done during that last prep! This is the basic catch.
S1: Next time he prepares, we would make half servings of what he did last time. This statement only gives the relation from last time he prepared to the next time he would. Let say he prepared x servings last time. Then we would prepare x/2 servings this time. But since we don't x, we cannot get the answer! NOT SUFF
S2: He used 6 cups of pasta for his last time recipe. But this doesn't give us the info that whether he would make the same quantity of serving next time or not. Hence NOT SUFF.
S1 + S2 = SUFF... as now you have x = 6... therefore finding the number of cups of Pasta is possible.
Therefore C ***********************************************************************************************
2. Let no of Male be M and No of Female be F. Given Info: Sum of All Male Exp = 9.8 x M Sum of All Female Exp = 9.1 x F
Ques: What is M/N?
S1: M = 52... NOT SUFF... as no info on F is given or possible to infer
S2: Sum of all Male + Female Exp = 9.3 x(M+F)
This gives us 9.8M + 9.1F = 9.3(M+F)
SUFF enuf to get M/F value......
Therefore B.
