dahiya,
Try these 2 things
1. Uninstall Java JRE from your PC and re-install the latest JRE from Sun's web site. This looks like a framework error to me, and if you have an older JRE (Java Runtime Engine) it could be a bug in it that's resurfacing for some reason.
2. Change the resolution of your monitor. Did you recently unplug it directly from an external monitor etc? Try changing back and forth and trying.
Thanks buddy but I already did that. I am also a software engineer. :D
But to my surprise, GMAC Tech Support replied with in 24 hours. They recommended following:
You may have directX video acceleration disabled. To check this, on the start menu, click run, type 'dxdiag', and click ok. This should bring up the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. On the 'Display' tab, in a box labeled DirectX Features, check that the 3 types of acceleration are enabled. If they are not, try enabling them and launch the Gmat exam again. If one of the three options is unavailable, you will need to download the most current version of Direct X from the following website:
https://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.mspx
If that does not work, Try this:
Right click the GMATPrep shortcut icon and select 'properties' On the 'Shortcut' tab find the box labeled 'Target'
In that box find where it says the following:
'...javaw.exe" -ms64m -mx256m -jar...'
And insert/change it to:
'...javaw.exe" -ms64m -mx256m -Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true -jar...'
Second solution worked for me and now everything is fine. I was scared and I was thinking of formatting my harddrive.
