Help !! Need some info on KAPLAN and GMAT Prep Test Scores [#permalink]

I gave GMAT prep the other day I got a 590 . Pretty disappointed . I had couple of questions which I think might help me to focus more in my area of weakness... . The funny thing is that I get tough questions right and simple questions wrong. On further review of the Quant section , I found that I could have solved atleast 10 more questions without even looking at the solution itself within 2 mins.
1. Does everyone do AWA when doing these practice tests ?
2. When someone says they got a 760 or 730 in practice tests, approximately how many questions are they getting right in each section with these kind of scores ?
Here is the break down of scores for each section on the 590 I got the other day when I did GMAT prep.
Quant 20/37 questions right (Very poor , need lots of improvement)
Verbal 31/41 questions right (Some more room for improvement)
I understand its adaptive, but a ballpark figure will help me to be more focussed in areas where I need to improve. I have 20 more days to GMAT , I am already starting to wonder if I should postpone it . Thanks for all your answers.
