I basically needed to hit 690 or above. I studied for a good amount of time (
OG, kaplan 800, kaplan, the 70 questions offered by the gmat club) and felt confident about the exam. A month ago I did the two gmatprep exams and scored a 680 and 670. I doing decent in quant and really well in verbal, so I was pretty confident that at the low end I would get a 650 on the exam and then take it again with a revised strategy (if i had to). I also was not too worried about the pressure of the exam because i've performed well on both the CPA and CFA exams.
As soon as the AWA section started I COMPLETELY froze. I could not think for the entire exam. I can't believe it's possible for the human mind to completely implode. In retrospect, I definitely should have cancelled my score. a 590. Yes, it's not a horrible score, but I am applying to some of the top schools and that won't cut it.
I am obviously going to take it again (and a third time if needed), but I am freaking out. Does this happen to people who then go on to score well? Does anyone have any advice as to a new strategy? My biggest problem was that I could not focus on the exam. At all. I am ADD as it is, so....
HELP!?! I even did horrible on verbal and that has always been my saving grace...
