I think I goofed up Kellogg R1 --- [#permalink] New post 09 Oct 2008, 09:52
Hey guys -

I was going to apply to Kellogg R1 but I just realized that the deadline for submitting Part I of the form (for interviews) was Oct. 3rd :(

Can someone clarify - Can i submit my app. for R1 deadline (Oct. 17th) without having met the deadline for part I? Or does it mean that I'll qualify as a R2 candidate now even if I apply by the R1 deadline???

Thanks!

the Oct 3 pt 1 submission is if you want an off-campus interview. I.e. you don't want to fly to campus.

I believe you are now obligated to visit campus. You might be able to schedule something off campus but that was the whole point of the 10/3 deadline.

You are still in R1 no matter what, if you submit your completed app by Oct 17.

If you have to waive your interview because you aren't able to get to campus and there are no off-campus slots open, they could just ding you, but it sounds like it would be easier if they would just move you to R2. in which case you would be able to schedule an off-campus interview well in time of that deadline.

Tarmac is correct. I would suggest interviewing on campus (selection made in application page 1 or 2) and submitting R1, then interviewing ON Campus.

Also, one word of advice. I wouldn't contact them begging for an off campus interview after the deadline. Take your lumps and book the ticket, pretend like that's what you intended all along

Thanks for the info. guys. Considering that I'm out of country and that my ticket will cost $2 G's, I'll just shoot for R2 :)

If Kellogg is your first love, then it could be worth while interviewing on campus. It shows commitment.

Kellogg app is actually very confusing.

I was planning to attend the interview in K, but on 3rd itself I saw in the Kellogg website that interview slot get booked 6 week in advance, I immediately changed plan and saw that 3rd itself is the last day, so filled up everything in hurry
