"therefore" is not a matter of conceren here. the important conceren is how to connect two clauses, IC and DC. to connect ID and DC, we need semicolone. therefore, ABC are out since they are run-on sentences and remain D and E.

between D and E, E is definitly better than D because the idiom "unlikely to", not "unlikely in" is correct. so E wins.....

A, B, and C misuse the listing structure and try to change the meaning of the sentence.

E is correct because of the active voice. Semicolon is also grammatically acceptable because both clauses could stand alone.
