I would choose answer A

You need to use like in this context.

Answer C is wordy.
Answer B provides additional content.

I would go with E.


A) Like other performance indicators, the growth rate of a start-up business is generally related to the amount of time and - Amount of resources is wrong
B) Just like other performance indicators, the growth rate of a start-up business is generally related to the amount of time and - Just is redundant and amount of resources is wrong
C) Like other performance indicators are, the growth rate of a start-up business is generally related to the amount of time and number of - Like is wrongly used here
D) As other performance indicators are, the growth rate of a start-up business is generally related to the amount of time and - amount of resources wrong
E) As other performance indicators are, the growth rate of a start-up business is generally related to the amount of time and number of - Correct. As is correctly used and number of resources is correct.

I will go with B.

I struggled between A and B. I rewrote the sentence this way...

The growth rate of a start-up business, just like other performance indicators, is generally related to the amount of time and resources dedicated to the endeavor.

C, D & E have this funny thing going on ... Like/As other performance indicators are

If not that "amount" in A, I'd go with it. but taking into account that, I'll go with E.

I would go with E too.

the amout of resources is just wrong. It has to be number of resources!

That leaves us answer choise C and E.

Like other...ARE is wrong, it has to be AS....are!

That leaves us E.

The catch was the Amount of resources vs number of resources.
