Hello Linda
This is a great forum.
I am seeking to app to Wharton.
but i got a sinking feeling when i recieved my AWA score.
3.5!!!! Cannot believe it.
Following are my stats for GMAT: V-38, Q-47 TOtal 690
As an engineer ( another one) I have been writing failure analysis, Service documents et al which is used company wide and worlwide.
overall not a crappy writer as indicated by AWA.
Now questions:
(1) How much does AWA weigh when the ADcom looks at it?
(2) Do they look at V score and say this is OK?
(3) Should i ask my Manager to specifically write a sentence or two in reco letter stating : eventhough his AWA sucks it doesnt indicate his writing skills"?
(4) where in the essays if needed should i talk abt AWA?
(5) or should i just forget MBA
Thanks
Yogaman
To answer your questions.
1) It's the least signficant part of the GMAT.
2)They look at it all.
3) You should ask your manager to comment positively on your writing skills without reference to your AWA.
4) You shouldn't talk about the AWA. Just write well and provide evidence to counter the AWA.
5) Don't be silly.
Good luck!
