2.5 yrs back I had given my GMAT, which fetched me a paltry score of 610. Back then, even the work experience wasn't great to write about in my MBA essays and I had completely dropped my plans of MBA. But now I feel like going back to my dream of doing my MBA and better my career in coming years.
I have a huge dilemma whether to apply on the existing score f 610 or to retake GMAT. My 6 + years of experience has been in Investment Banking sector wherein I started my career as an analyst and have carved my way up to associate in Margin technology division overlooking collateral management space of one of the biggest investment banks in the word.
Any insights or suggestions would be much appreciated. I intent to apply to B schools which have flexibility in terms of internships that are interwoven as a part of the full time curriculum.
A good question. It depends on lots of things: How much ambition you have. How much time you have. And what your top score potential is.
But basically, with a 610, yes, retake. But before you do, make sure you are as prepared as you can possibly be! Study by yourself, take a course, do whatever necessary to get you there.
Best,
