05 Jun 2012, 05:37
Hello Everyone. As the title suggests, I am a looking for a good B School in US or Singapore which will allow me to join their full time MBA program. I am preparing for GMAT and I am aiming for 720+ It would be very difficult for me to make the transition back to studying once if I join a company after my Engineering. Please suggest some schools which will suitable for me. Regards Vadehra

I usually recommend not attempting this, but if you have a truly compelling reason to do the MBA early, I know Carnegie Mellon's Tepper School of Business and Washington St. Louis' Olin School of Business both take people with no work experience. You should expect your job opportunities to be relatively similar to those of undergraduates, for example, analyst positions instead of associate positions in management consulting. Olin publishes the statistics for its Young Leaders program, and I believe the averages are somewhere around 3.6 GPA and 720 GMAT. Hope that helps some, good luck!

My main reason to do an MBA is that I want to MBA is to gain exposure and make professional connections. Also a friend can I also please have information about Masters in Management courses which I might be eligible for (i.e. without work experience)? A friend of mine got accepted into some Masters program related to management in Harvard. I am not sure if he got accepted into Harvard Extension School or Regular. Please provide some insight. Regards Vadehra

For you goal, you will be better served with a master program from a top school. The prestige of the school will allow you access to its alumni network. The course work will give you a background on business. If you do an MBA now, it will disqualify you from all of the top MBA programs later down the line. The job prospect is limited for those without work experience. I’m not very familiar with master programs; I do know the Duke offers an MMS degree. From what I know, MMS student have full access to the MBA alums. They also take classes here at Fuqua, so have interactions with the MBA students.

Regards Vadehra you must "apply" before any school will allow you in. If you want to know about your lack of work experience impacting your application then use the "s-e-a-r-c-h"

Appreciate yo reply pacostacos . But I wanted information about MBA Masters in Managements as well as Masters in Finance as well. I could not find enough info so that is why I asked this question 'again'. pacostacos wrote: you must "apply" before any school will allow you in. Well I would like to know my options before hand so i can motivate myself to reach my goals. I will apply after I give GMAT. Is that such a bad thing? Regards Garv Vadehra
