I've gone through all 7
MGMAT practice CATs and I cant seem to get a read on how the algorithm decides what questions to give you. My quant scores are as follows:
Free test - 44
1 - 48
2 - 49
3 - 42
4 - 49
5 - 47
6 - 48
Three of them I could not finish on time (#1, 2 and 4) while the others I was able to finish. On test #6, I actually finished with about 8 minutes to spare.
The problem is that on the ones I finished, I was getting easier questions ie more 5-600 and 6-700 than 6-700 and 7-800. Specifically on #6, i only saw 3 7-800 level questions and 19 6-700 level questions - still scoring a 48. On # 4 I saw 11 7-800 level questions and on #2 29 out of the 37 questions were from the 7-800 bin. Is that a little ridiculous?? These questions took way too long to solve and to me this didnt seem very adaptive.
Has anyone else noticed a similar pattern? I'm hoping to score in the mid to upper 40's on quant and i need to know for timing purposes whether I will get all harder questions or a good mix.
For what its worth i got a 48 on my first GMATprep Quant section and finished with plenty of time to spare. I realize
MGMAT Quant is much harder than other practice tests and i've heard its harder than the real thing.
