Hey bb awesome site, I'm sure its going to be very helpful in my prep.

I've printed the link you posted and I've gone through it. I was asking about whats more basic in regards to MGMAT foundations vs. MGMAT strategy vs. GMAT official guides.

I guess I will be starting with MGMAT Math foundations then move to the individual startegy books, then same for verbal, and then finally the official books. I did a veritas gmat practice two months ago after work with no knowledge as to what to expect and got 590, and my goal is to make 90th percentile. I'm excited to go through this journey and I'm sure with discipline the 700+ score will come

Yes, make sure thought you study when your brain is "fresh" meaning not after a big dinner/beer/etc ;)
I have studied with Kaplan Premier and 2 workbooks that came (MGMAT Books were not available back then). I basically covered the premier book and then realized I was still missing quite a bit. You can approach it that way too (figure out what's missing and then go back - really depends on your learning style) but starting with foundations is probably best

I would also suggest not moving to the next section until you cover something and feel comfortable with it. If you don't, don't move on until you do. This simple rule should take care of it.
Good Luck!

Thanks, I just went through self studying for CFA level I and I passed so I do have my confidence inflated. I'm gonna approach the GMAT in a similar way in the sense that I will put plenty of time to each topic no matter how easy it is for me. I also think copying the exact exam day conditions is critical to success.

Yes, make sure you do all exercises in a timed mode!

P.S. I guess I know why now, but all CFA folks seem to be surprised with the outcome at the end (lower score than expected)

Yes us CFA folks have pretty big egos... I'm going to log my studying and post it once after I write it.

Hey Unforseen,

I agree with bb that it's probably best to start with the Foundations Strategy Supplements to solidify your understanding of the basics before moving on to the Strategy Guides. You can also try using our free Basic Math Diagnostic tool (located in your Manhattan GMAT Student Center under the CAT Exams & Diagnostics tab) to help you decide whether or not you need to start with the Foundations of Math Strategy Supplement.

Best of luck to you!
