I have a huge dilemma and I've been searching and researching about this.

Is it well worth it to get a MS Engineering Management degree while not planning to pursue an MBA? I'm thinking of schoos like CSU East Bay or San Jose State University.

I saw WPI having a MS in Marketing and Technological Innovation, which is distance learning. Not sure how employers would think of the distance learning part, but WPI is a pretty good school.

Then there's MS Systems Engineering which I am looking at John Hopkins and Iowa State via distance learning.

I have an undergrad in business, and have interest in product management/marketing, and have been doing IT consulting the past 3 years.

The other program that stood out to me was at Carnegie Mellon for the MS in Engineering & Innovation Technology Management program. I'm planning to take the GRE, but not sure how difficult it is to get into that program.

Yes, I did look at MBA schools, but taking the GMAT numerous times doesn't help.
The schools I'm looking at for MBA is Mississippi State, Auburn, Drexel, UMASS - Amherst, CSU East Bay, Penn State, which all are distance learning. The one thing I fear most is that if I do indeed choose the MBA route, it's distance learning and recruiters and employers won't like the schools I've chosen.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Any would be greatly appreciated and if you have any comments about the schools I've listed, would be super!
