MS in Accountancy vs MS in Taxation [#permalink] New post 05 Feb 2011, 00:53
I'm applying to grad school and was wondering if anyone could weigh on this issue. I'm want to get a MS in taxation but am wondering if a MS in accountancy w/ emphasis in taxation is better or equal to a MS in taxation. If i got a MS in accountancy i would have a lot more options when applying to schools since so many offer a MS in accountancy program compared to a MS in taxation.

Thanks in advance.

MSA will be a broader degree, which is why it will give you more scope. If you want to be a tax specialist and that's it, then an MS Tax is fine. But if you want to keep your options open, MSA is definitely better....
