Hi All,

I have scheduled my Exam on May 2012.Yesterday, one of friend was scheduled to write and it was an absolute shocker !!!! :cry: :cry:

He was not allowed to write the exam because the name in the passport did not match with the name in the test taking receipt.The problem was just with the initial,however the if you consider the Driver's license as the proof ,the names match.

I guess even i have the same issue,the name in my Driver's license and the GMAT receipt match.But the name in my passport and my national identity card has the initial expanded.

Your thoughts please ......

The test centers are pretty stringent about the identity proof thing. Your name should exactly match the one in the GMAT reciept else you would not be allowed to take your exam...In India, the only proof of identity acceptable is the passport and the name in passport has to match with that in the reciept. Else kaput!

Check with MBA.com if you can change the name on the appointment letter...else cancel and reschedule with correct name...(as on the passport)...

My advice:

Send an e-mail to GMAC. I had a similar problem registering for my TOEFL (I registered with 1 last name, but my ID has two). After sending them an e-mail, they told me to send them a fax with a copy of my ID in order to change the registration data.

I suggest you contact them to see how they solve these kind of issues, because I bet they a procedure set.

Hi,

Thanks for your response..I called up the customer care,they asked me to forward scanned copy of my passport to them and they can change the name.An incident request has been raised.It will take 4 to 5 business days to do that.

@iamgame : you are spot on,the only valid ID proof if you are from INDIA is passport,even though in the website it is given as any one of the proof's(DL,National ID card)
