Hi Paul,
I was hoping you could tell me what you think my chance of getting into Baruch (Zicklin), Georgia State University and University of Buffalo would be.
Cumulative GPA - 2.8
GMAT - 410 (1st attempt) - prep to retake in March (Goal 600+)
W/E - 8 yrs
Do you think 600+ is out of reach? IF so should I start looking at Executive Programs
I question if I should take some graduate level course to create an alt transcript.
Please advise.
humbled4real,
I actually don't have these three schools' average GMAT scores in front of me (I'm at Starbucks). That will tell you what your chances are. If their lowest GMAT scores are above yours then your chances are close to nonexistent. If your score falls within their middle 80% then you have a chance. This data can be found on Business Week, Princeton Review, etc.
If you take a GMAT prep course and study hard then a 600 score should be doable. Have any of your practice tests broken 600?
An alternate transcript can be a good way to compensate for low grades in MBA type core quant courses, but they won't help you compensate for a low GMAT score. You sound too young for an executive MBA.
Good luck,
