I took my GMAT yday and got 660(Q 46, V 35). Was aiming for a 700, but not more than that. My score is a reflection of my preparation level in that I used to get around the same score in my practice CATs. I took 9 of them.
Thankfully, I wasnt all that nervous during the actual test. The AWA part went pretty smooth, Quant was not that difficult too. I was expecting a higher score in Quant, coz I didnt have any difficult prob qns, SD qns. Just one counting question and that was easy too. I even had 4-5 minutes to spare.
Till that point, I was pretty comfortable with the test, and was thinking that I could make it to 700. Then came the Verbal which was really tough, tougher than
OG. Initially I had 2 RCs which were in Science and that was easy coz I m an Engineer. But the CRs that followed were really tough, SCs were tough too .. more number of CRs than my practice tests. The CRs and SCs, I could always get down to two answers .. but could never decide on the final answer. Pacing was alright in Verbal too, had 3 mins to spare. I had one 100 lines RC, and there were 4 other 40-50 lines RCs. The RCs werent very tough, since 2 of them were Science, 1 was about Business strategy and another was about Black Activists. The 100 lines RC was not a tough one, coz that was the on business strategy and pretty straight forward. I m sure I lost all points on CRs and SCs.
I took both the 5-minute breaks, signed out and in .. relaxed a little bit in between.
Until the Quant was over, it was pretty easy-going test, after that it became so nerve-racking and strenuous. I was so tired physically n mentally after verbal.
I thank this board for all your help and valuable discussions.
Good luck on ur tests,
Vasurajiv.
