Re: opinion on/in [#permalink]
When we give examples, it is appropriate to use "such as" than like and also a thumb rule is "use like for nouns" (though not applicable always). so i ruled out the options "A" , "C" , "E"

between B and D i choose B because Margeret did not helped the gerund "shaping of" rathar the activities such as mentioned in the sentence.

Re: opinion on/in [#permalink]
D & E are incorrect as those has no antecedent.
In C, also about should be connected to the main clause with a conjunction.
Thus C is incorrect.
B follows parallel structure X and Y and use "such as" in a correct manner.

Re: opinion on/in [#permalink]
Convinced the answer is B :-)
I think D and E are wordy. OUT
help the shaping of x
help shape x
such x as ---> is used to introduce examples
B need some cosmetic changes. just to make sure that we are talking about two things - attitudes towards children and families & relative merits of competition and cooperation.

Re: opinion on/in [#permalink]
B for me. Because we need 'such as' to introduce examples. All other options dont make any sense.
