I saw a couple of sample IR questions and was totally dumbfounded.
I would have no clue how to solve them if I saw them for the first time on the test.
Is there a general consensus that you will score better in the new IR section if you are good at Quant ?

I do believe there is a co-relation between IR and quant. By quant I mean questions involving logical reasoning than algebra and geometry. If you are good at LR you will score high in IR. Having said that the best way to excel in IR is
- Solve all the 50 problems in OG13.
- Solve the 25 problems in GMAC Question Pack 1
- Solve the 20 problems in new GMAT Prep 1 and GMAT Prep 2.

If you solve and master all the above questions twice, you will rock the IR section as the questions will be somewhat of a replica of these questions.

Well I think you're in luck! B/C the IR section isn't going to even be on your test. The new GMAT with the new IR section doesn't start until June 5th. SO don't waste your time studying that section when you won't even see it on test day

I asked the question because I am thinking of re-scheduling the test for a later date
