Hi All,
I took old GMAT Prep 1 today and got 690 (Quant-49, Verbal-34). This is my first test since I started GMAT prep. Sorry for the following long post but I am tensed after having a dismal outing in verbal section and overall test .
Quant Section: As I didn't practice much in DS and geometry questions and couldn't plan my time distribution in Quant section, the score was not as per expectation. I was forced to guesstimate answers for questions near the end of test which reflected on my score.
Overall accuracy - 37 Correct, 9 Wrong.
Distribution of wrong questions - In the last set of questions(30-33,36-37), I ended up doing 6 questions wrong with 2 questions correct in between.
I am planning to devote more time in DS questions and time management to do well in this section.
Verbal In the test I was fatigued and finished Verbal section 17 mins before time.
Overall Accuracy - 27 Correct, 14 Wrong - CR(3), RC(5), SC(6).
Distribution of wrong questions- 2 SC wrong in a row (4th and 5th ques), 2 CR and 1 SC in a row (9-12), one RC with 3 ques(15-17), 2 SC (31-32)
I have completed CR Bible and Manhattan SC guide
(once) while practicing questions from OG12 and Verbal Review 2nd edition. I didn't go through any prep material for RC and practiced ~40 ques from
OG 12 (starting from the end )with ~79% accuracy. Also for CR I practiced ~90 ques from
OG 12 with ~90% accuracy.
SC has been a problem area for me and it seems like I am unable to improve in it even though I went through theory portion of Manhattan SC guide
twice.
I am planning to take GMAT by August'12 and my target score is 760. I feel the target score is pretty steep with my low accuracy in Verbal and time management issues in Quant .
Kindly suggest how I should plan and work for next 2 months.
