Hi Linda,
A few months ago I took two UCLA Extension online courses: Management X1A - Principles of Accounting and Management X100 - Business Economics. I received A's in both of them.

I'm currently enrolled and about 1/3 of the way through Management X1B - Principles of Accounting (second part of the two-part course) and Management X110 - Mathematics for Management. I have only had so many graded assignments in those classes thus far, but based upon the complexity of the material, I think I will get A's in both of those.

The next quarter I plan on taking a couple more courses, most likely Business Statistics (Management X115) and either Business Applications of Calculus (Management X410) or Basic Managerial Finance (Management X130A).

Thanks for the followup and I look forward to reading your full response.
- Steve

Steve,

Good work! That's helpful.
Kellogg, Sloan, and Tuck are stretches. However, I do think you have reasonable shot at Johnson, Yale, Fuqua, and Darden. You certainly are doing everything you can to minimize the impact of those low grades.

Please let me know if you would like help with your MBA applications when you apply.

Best,
Linda

Thanks Linda. Are there any other schools that you think I should add to my list? I read in accepted.com's MBA Action Plan that, being somewhat old for a full time program (I'll be 30, almost 31, at matriculation), I should apply to a larger list of schools. I find myself most interested in smaller schools with tight-knit personalities. The only real outlier in my current choices is Kellogg, which, despite being significantly larger than the others, also has a reputation of a very close-knit, friendly, collaborative culture.

thanks

I also recommend you consider Ross. Otherwise, you've done a good job.

Best,
Linda
